Anna and Elsa Painting

One last process image that shows the jump between now and the last set of process images I took, and then the final painting. I feel like I learnt a lot creating this image. I used a mess of brushes and then finished using my own.

Between these two painting sand my last process images I've had a play with the colour channels. I've moved the red channel around a bit to bring a bit more warmth into the painting, especially into Elsa's skin. Doing this harmonizes the painting and makes the two sisters look more like they are in the same image. Elsa looked a bit too cool toned and grey previous to my doing this.

Added a rough edge to the image because I felt it made it look much more natural and painterly and slightly more traditional.

I did try and create a snowy look in the background for most of the painting process but In the end I got rid of it because it just took away from the composition.

After looking at triangular compositions I have also cropped this image a bit so the triangular structure I accidentally put in is emphasized. The triangle is off center making the image feel less stable than the Harry Potter drawing I'm doing. This emphasizes the less stable relationship portrayed in this painting.

The painting also uses the golden ratio researched earlier in the semester:
