Digital Again

Istarted another initial sketch in pencil, planning to do another pencil drawing but instead I started working it up digitally. I researched a technique to turn my pencil sketches into lineart.

By using this technique I could use my pencil sketch as an under-drawing for my painting. SO I started to work up tone and colour on photoshop instead of with pencil on paper.

I hadn't painted digitally for a while at this point so I watched  few speed drawings on youtube.

This particular video made me aware of the uses for the liquify tool when sketching. I knew it existed but had always avoided it because of the way it distorted your drawings and pain strokes in a weird way. The way this artist uses it though is clever, still in the sketch stage. so if you have a line or shape you arent happy with you can change it quickly, trying multiple version of the shape using the liquify tool without having to redraw your sketch.
