Continuing my pencil drawings

I enjoyed working on the pencil sketches I did over Christmas so much that I wanted to continue them into this term.

I started drawing these Harry Potter Characters. Inspiration for clothing and general appearance came from the books and films so it gave me the ability to practice my rendering technique without worrying too much about aspects of character designs such as nationality/design influences ect.

I have altered their appearences from the actors in the films just to have a bit of fun producing the characters a they were in my head. I went with the idea of a "Black Hermione" being popularised online and by the stage play "Cursed Child."

I am creating based on the "rule of thirds" having one character in each of the thirds of the image. I am keeping them together despite this, not separating them entirely into three sections to keep the sense of them being a trio/collective.

I feel like my pencil shading is getting much better and much finer which makes the image look much neater/less messy. I really like the textural quality of my pencil sketches and I wonder if I could transfer this into my digital work.
