Another painting I started earlier this semester and just finished now.
This painting was a project which forced me to try adding both costume and background into my image. (Much like in my last post/painting - but this is an example of a finished painting).
Costume and environment are areas I am weaker in and painting this image allowed me to practice both aspects of painting/drawing.
I used a lot of reference material to create this image. Both of the fabrics/materials I was trying to create and of the character I was drawing (Leliana from the game Dragon Age: Origins.)
I think the main flaw in this painting is that the background, and character in the foreground, don't look inter-connected. I need to find some way of creating shadow, or something, so the character doesn't just look stuck on to it's environment.
